Where can I go ice skating in Zurich?

Hey there, little ice princess! Even though lake Zurich probably won’t freeze this winter either, there are many possibilities to ice skate in town. One of our favorite places is the ice rink on the terrace outside the ETH – the view over the old town is spectacular! The ice rink will be open free of charge until 14 December 2014.
A highlight for all the ice skaters in Zurich is the annual ice disco at the Dolders ice rink – live djs, mulled wine and of course ice skating will make a perfect afternoon. It takes place on the 20. of december.

December in Zurich: Ice-skating and mulled wine
December in Zurich is not much different than in other Swiss cities. Except that we got the most beautiful x-mas ligthing at Bahnhofstrasse. And Europe’s biggest artificial ice rink for ambitious skaters!
Built in the 1930’s, the open-air Dolder ice rink is very popular. Young and old are gathering there to do a few rounds with their ice skates.
As every year in December, there is a special happening: the Zurich ice-skating disco on the 21st! So, grab your skates and show your pirouettes at the Dolder ice field. A great place for a date, by the way!
At the ice-skating field in Oerlikon (Heuried), a sporty amusement of a special kind awaits you every Wednesday: the Afterwork on Ice. Meet friends or new people, drink mulled wine and show your ice-skating skills! Find out more about Zurich’s other ice-skating places.
Another Swiss thing to do in the cold and x-mas-market season is drinking mulled wine and eating melted cheese. There are many different places to get the warming drink or the nourishing swiss speciality: at Bahnhofstrasse in front of Globus, close to the Singing Christmas Tree, inside the central station or at the Niederdorf.
