I’ve come to Zurich and now it’s raining. Any suggestions for indoor activities?
Yes, the grey and cold are back. We also wonder where lovely misses spring has gone. But, nevertheless, there are still plenty of things to do in Zurich on a rainy day:
Buy a thick book (read our suggestions for book shops) and spend the day reading in a cosy coffee place like Casablanca, Plüsch or Dihei.
Visit one of Zurichs many museums. Our favorites are Rietberg, Bellerive and the Museum of Design. Or chose one from the complete list Zurich Tourism made.
Brave the elements with dolce far niente: Visit the lunch cinema and treat yourself with a visit at one of Zurichs spas afterwards.

Winter in Zurich: Beat the cold
Winter in Zurich can be grey and wet – as the current weather proves. The best thing to do at a day like this is to relax at a spa! Here are some suggestions:
Hürlimann Spa: In the halls of a former brewery you can now swash in different baths. There’s also an Irish-Roman spa and the open rooftop-bath comes with steamy water and a spectacular view.
Stadtbad Zürich: The spa at the heart of Kreis 4 offers hammam, sauna and beauty treatments. When lying on the hot stone bench of the hammam or sweating at the sauna, you’ll totally forget the cold weather.
Seebad Enge: In winter, the popular summer bath turns into a sauna. Be brave and jump right into lake Zurich after a having a long and hot sauna.
How can I escape this rainy weather?
As much as we love Zurich, especially in summer the weather is one thing that could definitely be improved.
So if you’re not into a rainy summer, be sure to count in some escapes: Travel south to lovely Ticino or dip into the tropical heat of the Masoala Hall at Zurich Zoo. Or pamper yourself at one of Zurichs dayspas.
