How nice and warm it is outside! I would like to enjoy my dinner in a garden restaurant – where can I go?

(Photos: Gartenhof, Reithalle)

You are right, it finally got quite warm – time to stay outside as much as possible.

There are different places we like a lot: at restaurant Italia you get served excellent italian food under big chestnut trees, Gartenhof has a lovely range of dishes and you sit in a cosy little garden, Palme de Beirut takes you east to enjoy libanese delights in a perfect green oasis.
The huge garden of Reithalle invites you to eat fresh european cuisine and at Bayrischer Hof Biergarten there will be served typical bavarian food and beer, of course.

Make sure to book ahead or be there early – every Zurich person wants to sit outside on the few warm summer nights we get over here!

Hello there, music lovers!

(photos: Openair Wipkingen)

A few weeks after Stolze Openair in Oberstrass, Wipkingen is THE place to be: Openair Wipkingen is taking place this Saturday!
At the lovely riverside of the Limmat, in the Wipkingerpark, meet dancers, night owls, families and hipsters to listen to great music from home and abroad, such as Zigitros, Tawara Street or Abby. The atmosphere is relaxed and you can drink, eat, listen, dance or even swim and all that for free. Have fun!

Zurich – Monocle’s favourite city of 2012

Monocle is a global news and lifestyle magazine and website, founded by Tyler Brûlé in 2007. The magazine provides a globalist perspective on issues as fashion, international affairs and design. The Monocle website also contains films and documentaries such as a film about our lovely Zurich – the most liveable city – wow!
We like it because it shows not only the business and neat side, but also the alternative, vibrant and creative heart of Zurich and there are locals sharing interesting information.

It´s five o´clock in the morning and Zurich is so amazing I don´t want to go to bed. Where is the music still playing?

Dear Celestine, the answer to all your questions at this time of day is the Langstrasse. Try your luck at club Gonzo, Plaza, Zukunft or Revier.

Event Tip: Mercatino Rimini

my-friend-from-zurich.org/mercatino_rimini

Traditionally, the public bath Schanzengraben is reserved for men only. This changes though at Monday nights, when young designers and vintage sellers display their goods at the wooden slats of the bath: It’s Mercatino Rimini!

Grab yourself a cold drink from the bar, stroll through the market and discover the many lovely bits and bobs the vendors have to offer. Every Monday, only in good weather.
